Lorestan province is the rainiest province of the country after the three northern provinces, so the average annual rainfall, which is about 252 millimeters for the whole country, reaches about 545 millimeters in Lorestan. This amount of precipitation, along with the mountainous topography and the suitable climate of the region, has created one of the richest running water networks in the country with 30 permanent rivers with a total length of 2450 kilometers, which, after deducting the expenses, amounts to It empties 13 billion cubic meters of water into the lake behind the Dez and Karkheh dams, this volume of water is about 11% of the country’s total flowing water. Also, Lorestan, having hard geological formations and 3,500 kilometers of alluvial aquifers, has stored underground water amounting to 3.5 billion cubic meters.

Introduction of project
Absardeh basin is located in Lorestan province, west of IRAN. The dam site is almost 20 Kilometer far from City of Broujerd. Access to the site is through asphalted road of Broujerd – Chahar Borji – Khoram Abad of 20 km from Broujerd city. Absardeh River originates from major branch and minor branch. The major branch originates from Khargooshinab – Mish. Parvar Mountains while minor branch originates from Khersan kooh mountains. Location of Absardeh dam is junction of minor branches.
